 The first game of the 2007/8 for the tornadoes was a tough match at home against south park.Last season's Div 5 runners up & south park started the first 15 minutes with the defences coming out on top until kane & conar both went to strike the ball with conar getting first touch & the ball hitting the back of the south park net 1-0.Play for the next 5 mins was even when south park had a good break & on 20 minutes levelled it up 1-1.It was a new look back 4 with new arrivals anthony & jacob partnering callum & leon in the back line.A midfield of jack barry liam & george with kane & conar up front.Thanks to some great goalkeeping from callum H we went in at half time all square .The second half begins with jack & barry covering lots of ground & callum making somemore fine saves.The last 10 minutes saw south park pushing for the win but the goal was not coming.With time running out george & liam manage to find conar on the edge of the box & he dispatches the ball into the goal with a fine lob over the keeper this gets us off to a great start with no time for south park to reply.Credit to the south park lads for a spirited display as they did not have a full squad due to illness i am sure the return match will be just as tight.
